ARCOmadrid is one of the year's most important international gatherings.

International participation in the fair rises to 66%, the highest for several years, with 133 foreign galleries. A total of 201 galleries from 27 countries and more than 2,000 artists will be represented in Madrid

More than 150 international professionals, members of acquisitions committees, museum directors and curators will visit ARCOmadrid, together with more than 250 guest collectors from all over the world

Proof of this is the confirmed attendance of more than 150 professionals from all over the world, who are coming to Madrid to visit and take part in the programme of activities, forums and meetings at the Fair. Among other events, they will attend the 2nd Meeting of European and Ibero-American Museums, which can count on the participation of more than 50 directors and curators from some of the world's most notable museums of contemporary art, such as Bart De Baere, director of the Antwerp Museum of Contemporary Art (Belgium); Jesús Maria Carrillo, director of the Cultural Programmes Department of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía; Tadeu Chiarelli, director of the Contemporary Art Museum of São Paulo University (Brazil); Charles Esche, of the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (Netherlands); João Fernandes deputy director of conservation, research and dissemination of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía; Ann Gallagher, co-director of the Tate Collection; Nydia Gutiérrez, curator of the Museo de Antioquía (Medellín, Colombia); Natalia Majluf, director of the Lima Art Museum MALI;Zdenka Badovinac, director of Galerija de Liubliana (Slovenia); Bartomeu Marí, director of the Museu dArt Contemporani Barcelona (MACBA); Soledad Novoa, curator of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Chile; Agustín Pérez-Rubio, Director, MUSAC, and María Inés Rodríguez, director of the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC), Mexico, among others.

There will also be an important presence from the United States. Directors and curators from US museums invited by ARCOmadrid will be attending, accompanied by members of their acquisition committees: more than 50 collectors and professionals from US contemporary art institutions such as The Bronx Museum of the Arts; Utah Museum of Contemporary Art; MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland; Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at the Hammer Museum; Americas Society; San Jose Museum of Art; Walker Art Center; Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis; The Drawing Center; SculptureCenter; Museo del Barrio; Miami Art Museum.

There will also be other special guests, directors of institutions, biennials and other international events, as well as 250 notable collectors – more than in previous editions – who have been invited to visit ARCOmadrid. And the invited journalist programme, organised in partnership with Turespaña, with the participation of around 40 international journalists,will increase coverage of the Fair in the world's most relevant media.
